After doing the heavy lifting of raising the kids, I understand the desire to kick back and enjoy the fruits of their labor, especially if they are still doing night duty when kids are sick, helping in classrooms - all the stuff I used to do. And especially if you have a number of children (I had 4, one with cystic fibrosis, one with asthma who were both constantly sick). Unfortunately for me I hated my husband and left him once the kids were in school. So I've lived both lives - the trad wife, the student, and the full time employee. I wouldn't trade it for the world, but I do see why after killing yourself to raise the kids you'd feel like it's your due to take it easy. Parenting is round the clock. Maybe business ownership is as well, but most jobs you get a break from every single day. Parenting not so much.
