Even identical twins have differences. At a glance, or from a distance, they might look exactly the same, but up close they have significant differences, which allow parents (and those closest to them) to tell them apart. Most people just don't take the time to look that closely.

When my kids were small, we had the cutest identical twin girls that lived across the street and my boys would play with them and their older brother almost every day. Afton and Ella. At first I remember thinking - my gosh these girls look so much alike that I don't know how their parents tell them apart. But as I got to know them, I was able to tell them apart - maybe not at a great distance, but certainly when one or both would come over to play.
