For me, divorce wasn't painful, it was a relief.

But who benefits from our current system? Divorce attorneys mostly. Breaking up is hard. Having to get lawyers involved is stupid.

I also don't believe a woman should ever rely on a man for financial support or vice versa. There are plenty of reasons for this including many that do no involve divorce like death or illness.

Basically every human adult should be a fully functional human on their own. Then when bonds are forged, both individuals are there because they want to be there and not because they have to be. It makes for a better relationship. It makes for better parenting. It will improve society in general.

And it can all be done without registering with the government.
