I 100% agree with everything you said (which is good since you're the professional!) But truly, if you look at family structures from decades ago, the only difference was that the narcissism ran rampant and unchecked.

There aren't more narcissists now, we're just allowed to talk about it. We're allowed to leave the relationships. Back in the day we were just gaslit into believing we were crazy.
