I agree but with one caveat - a woman is often left holding the bag for an unplanned pregnancy.

Maybe Dad pays child support, but Mom is left with the lions share of the responsibilities (thus why women are more and more choosing not to have children). So if John Doe takes off the condom, he doesn't risk much, maybe some financial support. If Jane Doe doesn't take her birth control, she will be caring for a child - often alone - for the rest of her life.

They're both equally repugnant to me, but in one case the man is sabotaging her, in the other she's sabotaging herself - even if she doesn't realize it yet.
