I agree that it would be nice not to have to worry about being liked by someone else's children, but the men I've tried to date that haven't been married, nor had kids, don't seem to have matured in ways that I'd prefer in a partner. In fairness I don't date at all anymore, so it doesn't matter at this point, but if I ever do, maybe I'll give the childless ones another shot.
