I don't know about "too dramatic". You're right that without structure things do collapse, but maybe something better rises out of the ashes?

I don't even know that my point was to do away with the family structure, I think people always have and always will naturally pair off that way. My original point was simply that the government should not be involved, especially where there are no children.

Make your commitments, have your weddings, just don't sign the marriage license and file it with the state.
