I don't think you "have to take over".

 still a child at 24 yea…le to adversity, difficulty, and struggle. Allie is easily overwhelmed with normal life situations. When she can’t renew a prescription or a storm delays her flight, I have to take over to alleviate her panic. In many ways, she’s still a child at 24 years old.

I don't think you "have to take over". You might try letting her sit with her panic. It truly becomes a sink or swim situation, and 9.9 times out of 10, they swim.
