I feel that! If my Mc Mansion isn't paid off at retirement time, I may downsize as well. However, we currently live in a multi-generational home, so I'm not sure what the future holds! My four adult children and two grandchildren live with me. My brother is also moving in next month.

They all pay rent, so depending on whether they decide to go their own way(s) or stay in our little community will determine whether or not I sell our home.

If they stay, I have the added benefit of some live-in help as I age. I chose a home that has all of my needs on the main floor. My kids are upstairs and downstairs, but I virtually never use the stairs myself.

I'm happy for you getting so close to retirement! Hopefully those trips materialize and you live long and healthy senior years!
