I got my Master's Degree in Taxation. Never were truer words spoken about the tax code. But in fairness, nobody can understand it which is why there are hundreds of tax court cases to be heard after new laws are written lol.

But aside from all that, I couldn't agree more. I think I heard somewhere that the writer has failed if you realize you're reading. It means the prose doesn't flow and that you've failed to express your ideas clearly. I think of that often when I'm writing. If I get to a word that makes me wonder if that was the right word, I know instantly it's not.
