I haven't been able to get this poor family off my mind. And I realized it's the same whenever I hear about a family who loses a child (especially in such a tragic, needless way), which is what inspired the idea that as parents we do all grieve together for another parent who is going through, or has gone through, what we all feel is the unimaginable.
