I just read an amazing article about how there are two different schools of thought regarding government.

The party of Me.

The party of We.

If you look at the thought processes of the current republican party you can see that they are simply interested in their own best interest, even at the expense of every other person around them.

They are the party of Me.

Democrats are talking about things like how to keep social security solvent, how to help families who are struggling, how to pass laws regulating those who are taking advantage of others, etc.

They are the party of We.

If you look at every political stance through this lens, it becomes easy to see why they support the policies they support.

Personally, I am more interested in the greater good. I know that about myself. I am willing to pay higher taxes so that there are not people in our country going hungry, or so that everyone has the opportunity for education.

Many people are more interest in themselves, and unwilling to help support their neighbors.

And the biggest irony of all is that there is a large percentage of the Me party who claim to be Christian. It appears they've completely lost the message of Jesus they claim to believe.

Very bizarre times we're living in.
