I started life believing I'd be a traditional wife. Then had multiple partners who taught me to be completely independent of them because they wouldn't take care of themselves. They wanted a mother not a partner. By the time I found a partner who wanted to exert control, it was way too late. This is many women's story. And you're correct, 30 years of bad relationships was enough for me.
