I think this comes down to the fact that women, at this point, don't want a partner as much as men do. I was happy to make the first move (back when I was dating), but I didn't ever feel like it was received well. There was a disconnect. It felt like men enjoyed the chase, so removing that element made them feel like it was too easy and it felt apart pretty quickly even if they were initially flattered.
So I was trying to make a commentary on other women's experiences without being someone who has had the experience of being unwilling. If that makes sense.
Yes, we've made so many gains, and yes I'm happy to make the first move (in fact physically I almost always took that upon myself to remove the guessing game part for the man), but apparently many women (and me now as well) just aren't interested enough in having relationships, in general, to pursue men. Or they've had experiences similar to mine where it wasn't well received when they tried.
All this is to say, you make a valid point, and it's simply one I don't have an answer for since I can only answer for myself.
