I, unfortunately, bought into the whole husband and wife have to back each other up and provide a united front. I do not subscribe to that belief anymore. It MAY be useful in a biological family, but certainly not in a step family. I no longer date and my kids and I live in a multi-generational home. Hopefully I've made it up to them, but I don't think I'll ever truly forgive myself. And I certainly won't forgive him.
