If it makes you feel any better, my CHILD was treated this way by medical staff because they said she was overreacting to the care she was receiving and that she was just manipulating me, and wasn't in the pain she claimed to be in.

American healthcare is a joke. And you're right that the discrimination is palpable. My daughter (starting at 3 years old) was labeled a problem child. And obviously that was from my lack of discipline.

Turns out she is autistic and has Cystic Fibrosis, and wasn't fully able to process the necessary care we were trying to give her. It was a nightmare to constantly be working AGAINST her care team.
