If you read the article, she did everything "right". She's in her 50s. Self-sufficient. Didn't date while raising kids for over a decade. Kids are raised. Dated for a few years before getting married and moving in together. She was attracted to a grown ass man with gainful employment, his own home that he kept clean, etc. The list goes on. So how was she supposed to know that he held these beliefs that she'd be his live-in maid service?
The answer is easy - we literally must assume that every man has been raised with misogyny as his default, and keep that assumption until he proves otherwise. Or take the out I did which is never to date again if we don't want to be a maid for grown ass adult men.
