I'm far too opinionated and wordy to ever say something like "I agree" to an entire article - for better or worse. It feels a little like when my college classes went to online only and we were forced to comment on discussion boards. We knew we had to say SOMETHING, but weren't terribly interested in the topic sometimes, so some of my fellow classmates would say something akin to "I agree" or "great comment" and would have their grade marked down.

If you're engaging just to say you engaged, then you're doing it wrong and it will be of no benefit. It seems to go without saying... but since you had to write a whole article about it, apparently not lol.
