I'm of the "if you can grow a beard you should" camp and a shaved chest is gross (not to mention prickly). So you might be asking the wrong person here, because yes, it's weird in both directions to me.

A fully grown human has hair. Do whatever you want with that information, but it's simply fact.

And do whatever you want with your own hair, but it's weird to insist your partner do something with theirs just so you're attracted to them, especially when life gets real and it's simply not (nor should it be) a priority.

I'm pretty sure this is fallout from rampant porn addiction, where they've normalized women looking like children... In fairness, from what I've read recently, about 50% of porn stars are under 18, so they don't just look like children, they actually are.
