I'm the same way, actually. It stems from being a child whose emotions are ignored or downplayed. If you've never been told that your emotions matter, and in fact, you've been told the opposite "Suck it up!" How can you possibly be expected to learn what you're feeling or why?

It's a learning curve for sure. We are 100% dependent on our caregivers to model for us how to acknowledge, understand, and deal with our emotions in a healthy way. If they cannot or will not, we're left trying to figure it out later in life.
