I'm the same way - super touchy feely if only with my romantic partners.

Often I will approach a man at a first meeting/date and open my arms for a hug. I can't tell you how often that hug is very stiff and guarded and - well, frankly weird and awkward. I have never used it as a way to screen out a potential mate, because first dates are awkward anyway, but I've noticed that the man who welcomes me into his arms with a warm hug is far more likely to end up in a second date.

I am sad that you were touch deprived for 20 years. That must have felt awful. I'm glad you're taking care of your own needs this time around.
