Interesting angle. I don't think that's what's happening for my sons, but I don't doubt it's a limiting factor for a lot of young men.

When my boys were in high school I bank rolled their dates, so especially for boys/men that don't have much money, or help, I'm sure this can make dating seem out of reach.

But I will say that some of the most fun I've ever had was on dates where we spent little, or no, money - picnic, hike, scavenger hunt, etc. Hopefully they can become creative with their plans to skirt this issue.
