It obviously depends on the relationship, but I think worldwide it's far more common to have multi-generational homes than not. The financial benefits alone are ginormous! Add to that the feeling of community and support and I'll be happy to have my kids home forever - if that's what they want. I'm guessing my future children in law won't be as enthusiastic, but I'll leave it as an open invitation!
