It's always been disgusting how the US military treats the citizens of this country - but even more so the troops. Once you enlist, you are military property and they do whatever they want with you.

My ex was in the Army reserves. Trained to fix medical equipment. They told him he'd be safe in a hospital in Germany if war ever broke out. But actually they had him drive convoys at the start of the Iraq war and he ended up doing triage multiple times. Once you're enlisted you do what you're told. Recruiters promises are garbage.
