It's so funny to me when my writing is received as having a tone or fury in it. I really wasn't upset by the comment at all. I don't think it is something that is explained to most people - so I really just wanted to be clear lol.

I didn't want to get into it too much about what your parents owe you because I know the differences are huge. I personally feel that I owed my children a happy childhood. To me that means being as present as I can, providing for their needs, teaching them life skills/how to be independent, etc. But I'm sure many would make the argument that if you're providing food you're doing all that's strictly necessary. So yeah, that would definitely be a discussion for another whole article!

If you think of a context where it doesn't apply - please let me know! Sometimes I get a little too focused on one topic and make generalizations that are too far reaching.
