Let's please normalize embracing the different phases of life. Let's pick a major based on what our goals are right now, knowing it'll probably change. The average person changes careers SEVEN times over their life.
It's always been weird to me that we think we'll find a partner who will be a good match for us throughout our whole life. Maybe we grow together, maybe we don't. But marriage is no longer a requirement so let's stop acting like hitching our horse to one buggy for our whole life is necessary.
And let's have kids when we are settled into life and ready for the responsibility. Especially the religious tropes of having as many kids as possible as early as possible may be beneficial to growing your congregation (and especially your donations - always follow the money), but it's dangerous for individuals.
