My daughter knew he came from a rough background. It was bad enough he developed a stutter (which he still has). But I'm not sure she knew how that would translate to every day life. The good news is that he wants to be better, and has signed himself up for the anger management classes - which I definitely give him props for. He's also really good about leaving when she tells him he needs to. So, so far it's being managed safely, but he's not supposed to be left alone with his kids because even still, his coping strategies can't be relied on.
