My life is much easier single. Even when I had children to care for. That's how I know the inequity isn't made up or a story I told myself. My "partner" made my load heavier. Period.

I like to have this conversation with men: if you're going to have to do it when she eventually leaves you, you should be doing it now. It's not about "helping" or "sharing the load", it's about two fully formed humans taking care of shit. So do it together when the load can be shared, or do it alone, but eventually you'll have to do it.
