Please do some research. Having been married to a child and spouse abuser, I assure you I've read books, been to group therapy, attended individual therapy, and have read many books and articles on the subject. Your "hunch" has literally no basis in reality.

Lundy Bancroft is an expert in his field. If you actually care about the topic feel free to do your own research.

I know I was overwhelmed as a single mother because their father added to my load (threatening, sending them back to me unfed, in dirty clothing, with a week of homework for me to try to help them catch up on) and did almost nothing to help (some child support)

So maybe dads don't get as stressed out because society knows they can't handle it and provide resources single mothers don't get.

Your opinion does not equal fact, I'm sorry. That's why these studies are so dangerous. The media loves sensational stories. Reality just isn't exciting to read about and people like you don't bother to actually do the research.
