These are great tips and you are 100% correct - anything left in the dark is always much scarier. Shining light on the subject will only serve to create a much easier conversation about it. And education about a topic nearly always leads to improvement in understanding and therefore action.

I also think another piece of advice I'd give to the gentleman is to fully understand consent for himself. Clearly the topics of rape and consent go hand in hand and I find that many men do not understand that lying and coercion to get unwanted sex from a woman are still rape.

My motto is - anything less than an enthusiastic YES! is a no. I think if we can really ingrain this mentality into men, we'll have far fewer problems.
