This happened to me almost exactly the same way you describe. I was cool with it to an extent until she insisted her family come from Thailand to support her while she was getting divorced. This family included 18 month old twins who would be away from their father for 3 months to support her divorcing a man she never loved.

She originally lied and told me THEY insisted on coming to the states to be with her. When I found out she was the one pushing (her sister with the twins told me through tears after traveling 30 hours with her babies), I couldn't believe someone could be so selfish. I haven't talked to her since.
