This has been a tactic I've used with men who want to go on a "quick date" before we've even had a chance to get to know each other. I'm pretty sure they already know we're not a match (since I don't hide things about myself), and I think they're mostly trying to pressure me to meet quickly so they can try to get sex. It's been useful in that specific situation to say, "Sure, let's get coffee, but first - I always ask this question..."

They answer it with their whole chest and spew hate about women who would ever dare have a life saving medical procedure and then get mad when I say, "That's a terrible answer. We're not compatible. Please move on."

It's certainly not the way I'd generally get to know someone - but if they want to hurry the process along and I don't know how they truly feel about women - this question is amazing at revealing a man's true beliefs about the other sex.
