This is an interesting statement and one you may want to review from a woman's perspective. Women have only recently been allowed to have careers and other financial independence.
There have always been MANY women who never wanted children (my grandmother told us all the time that she never wanted children), but there was no birth control until recently.
Women have been relegated to being free domestic labor throughout history in addition to being forced to provide heirs. You are going to see a major decrease in the number of women willing to have babies now that we have options. Especially if the man is assuming she will be the traditional wife who carries the full burden.
Many women say, "If I could be a dad, then I would have children" for a reason.
