We met when I was 14 and he was 17. We had an on-again/off-again relationship for many years. We married when I was 24 and I left for good when I was 35. But I basically married him for financial support when my daughter was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis and I wanted to stay home with her until she died (she did not end up dying).

All this is to say that I think we would have been done by the time I was 18 or 19, but extenuating circumstances led me to deal with his shit for almost 2 decades.

I'm sorry that your father is the same way. My kids are humiliated by their dad. They see him usually every Sunday when he takes them out for dinner, but they're always talking about how he is loud and sexual and obnoxious at the restaurant as well. So they've basically just gone limited contact with him to spare themselves.
