Well said. Many of us are choosing to be single for those reasons and more. I actually found - what I thought was - the love of my life after being in really bad relationships since I was old enough to date, but I ultimately ended it because I didn't feel like I was free to make my own daily choices. He did all of the cooking and cleaning and typically female activities around the house, and was a great emotional support to me, but he also inserted himself into my personal choices which I was not comfortable with (discouraged me finishing my master's degree, wanted to limit the time I spent with my kids and grandkids, etc.). Even after discussing the issue with him many times over the eight years we were together, he just couldn't seem to not want to schedule my days for me lol.
I found that my freedom is more important to me than a relationship.
