When someone shows up in your office for treatment, it's too bad you can't speak to the friends and family members of that person. I bet they could provide a much different view of the person seeking help. I've known narcissists to show up in therapy and have it go undetected because their narrative is so far removed from reality, the therapist has no way of knowing that the described events are simply fiction.
