Yes. It is annoying. You should research how many men on dating sites are not only in long term relationships, but are actually MARRIED. I've seen 30% married, 12% in long term relationships. Leaving just over half of the profiles being single, and I'll let you guess how many of those are presenting themselves honestly.

I met my last long term relationship on Match, likely because we were both being genuine, but I don't think my independent nature works well for most men who want to tell me how to spend my time. Against my better judgement I agreed to let my last partner move in with me after 2 years together and it was a disaster of epic proportion (though I now believe he was a covert narcissist).

The quality of men on Bumble was better than many of the other sites, I believe owing to the focus being on women. Most conservative type misogynists aren't going to join a site where women are in control. But the whole experience was underwhelming. I believe men my age are "old school" and women have evolved - making an unbridgable gap between our expectations.

Many of my friends have found romance with men much younger but that's not my vibe. I suppose if I meet someone organically and it falls perfectly into place I'd consider it, but it seems unlikely at this point.
