You make such an important point! Hating someone is not a prerequisite to leaving them. And the internal strength you have to muster to leave someone you still love is a Herculean task.

I've been in both situations - leaving long after I should have and feeling only relief, and leaving someone I still love but can see is damaging my life. The second was obviously a much more difficult prospect and maybe the reason some women don't leave toxic situations.
