Update: After giving this some thought I still stand by what I said below, but I feel this woman dodged a huge bullet on this one. Imagine if they had gotten married and decided to have a baby. As a pregnant woman maybe she could no longer shave off naturally occurring body hair… or imagine as a busy mom, she just no longer felt the desire to. Would he have left his wife and child over her natural body? Men who are attracted to shaved women seem to prefer pre-pubescent teenaged bodies which creeps me out.

Your response is spot on. He handled it badly, but ultimately if either partner does a 180 in the relationship, they can expect to have consequences, as you've stated.

It makes me think of my ex-husband who was vegan. I was up front with him from the beginning that I was willing to eat vegan with him most of the time, but I would likely never be 100% vegan.

Had I told him I'd be 100% vegan and then changed my mind later on, it would have been a much different experience. It's all about creating expectations and being honest.

In this case, it seems like she simply had a change of heart, but she also must allow for the fact that he may not experience the same change of heart with her, and be ready for the consequences, whatever they may be.

Great article!
