You're certainly right there! I've met many parents who were older when they had their children and ended up resentful because they had lived independent and free and having children ruined that for them. I never had independence to begin with, so it wasn't as difficult a transition for me.

But I think it's important to really think about why people have children. I don't think it's ever for anything other than a selfish reason.

I believe a child will love me unconditionally.

I'm lonely.

All of my friends have kids so I want one too.

I want a little "doll" to dress up and turn into a mini me.

Rarely does someone think, "I'm going to have a child because I believe I can give him/her the freedom to become whatever s/he wants to be." And often times the people who are that self aware adopt a foster child who is already here without a home.

I was no different. I was selfish in why I wanted to children, but at least I loved and love them with ever fiber of my being :) I know you're the same.

But I definitely do not recommend teenage pregnancy. Ever. lol
