The five love languages theory has been debunked, but the beliefs persist.

Likely because it’s an easy out.

Oh, your love language is words of affirmation?

Cool, “You are a wonderful person and I love you.” Now can I go back to ignoring you?

The problem is that a healthy and happy relationship encompasses every one of the five “love languages”.

There’s no short cut. There’s no cheat code.

Translation — I will tell you that you have to have sex with me because I don’t feel loved if you don’t. And you should probably tell me how great I am as well, even though I’m not.

I was in a relationship with a man who was genuinely in love with me.

And I knew it.
